| Mildred Charlene (Van Fossan) Davison
1914 – 2008 Mildred Charlene Davison, 93, Savannah, Missouri, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at LaVerna Village Nursing Home, Savannah, Missouri. Charlene was born April 16, 1914 at Bolckow, Missouri. She was a 1932 graduate of Bolckow High School. Charlene married Harold F. Davison at Hiawatha, Kansas on March 23, 1935. Charlene worked at Dr. Nichol’s Sanatorium for a few years. She also was a homemaker. For 63 years, Charlene was a member of First Christian Church in Savannah, Missouri. As an active member of the church, she served as superintendent of the Children’s Department for several years and was a member of the Sew More Club of the church. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Dale W. and Clara M. (Davenport) Van Fossan; and sisters, Helen Church; Gwendolyn Giffin and Betty Sargent. Survivors: son, Jerry Davison and wife, Vicki, Rushville, Missouri, daughter, Gayle Chambers and husband, Bill, Doniphan, Missouri; cousin, Joyce Holt, Maryville, Missouri; niece, Mary Anne Sargent, nephew, Dale Church, California; great niece, Shelly Thompson, Savannah; grandchildren, Kevin Chambers, Sherri Chambers and Clint Davison; and four great grandchildren. Celebration of Life: 10:00 AM Friday, January 4, 2008 at First Christian Church, Savannah, Missouri. Interment Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, Missouri. Visitation: 6-8 PM Thursday at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, Missouri. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hands of Hope Hospice. | ||
