Roger E. Bryan
1933 – 2007

Roger Ewing Bryan, 74, Savannah, Missouri passed away Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph. Roger was born June 23, 1933 at Princeton, Missouri. Roger married Jo Anne (Noland) on December 26, 1955 at Princeton, Missouri. He was a long-time educator in Missouri and served as a teacher and administrator for the Princeton, Tarkio and Cole Camp school districts. After his retirement, he became a mental health counselor and administrator in both Trenton and Osage Beach, Missouri. Roger was awarded several professional honors. He served as president of the Missouri Elementary Principal’s Association and president of the District Superintendent’s Association. Roger was also honored by former Missouri Governor Bond as a distinguished citizen. He was a life member of the Missouri State Teacher’s Association, Lion’s Club, Rotary International and Phi Beta Kappa. Roger was a member of the First Baptist Church, Savannah, MO and had served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Roger was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter, Teri Lynn Bryan and his father, Wilbur Bryan. Survivors: his loving wife of 51 years, Jo Anne Bryan of the home; son, Tony Bryan and his wife Joan and their children, Jacob, Amy and Alyssa Bryan all of Savannah, MO; daughter, Tammy Kisker and husband, Dale, Maryville, MO; their children, Brett Kisker and wife Hillary, N. Kansas City, MO; Amanda Keith and husband Zach, Platte City, MO; and Emily Kisker of Maryville, MO; daughter, Jamie Evans and husband, Rocky and their children, Jodie and Bryan Evans of Rock Port, MO; his mother, Aileen (Ewing) Bryan of Princeton, MO; his brother, Don Bryan and wife, Mary of Osgood, MO and brother Tracy Bryan and wife Lorraine, Sturgeon, MO. Roger loved to be with his family and friends and was very dedicated to his study of his Lord and Savior. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday, November 12th at First Baptist Church, 500 E. Pawnee, Savannah, MO. Celebration of Life: 10 AM Tuesday, November 13th. at First Baptist Church, Savannah. Graveside Service and inurnment will be at 3:30 PM Tuesday, November 13th. at Princeton, Missouri Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church, Savannah, Mo. Mr. Bryan has been cremated, with arrangements entrusted to Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, Missouri.
