| | | Age 66, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, October 16, 2009, at Aurora Medical Center. He was born October 27, 1942, in New London, son of the late Donald and Ethel (Stitchman) Decker. On June 18, 1966, he married Elizabeth Veitch in Seymour. Ronald was employed with Universal Foods in Milwaukee for 26 years and then came out of retirement to help build USA Yeast in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. His present plans were to help design what would become the best yeast plant in Guatemala for USA Yeast. Ron enjoyed his family and grandchildren and loved hunting, fishing, bowling, creating, helping, teaching and life. He was a past member of the Jaycee’s and on several committees at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, Port Washington. Survivors include his wife, Beth; his daughters: Michelle “Missie” (Dan) Dreier, Mounds View, Minnesota; Deborah (Bill Smith) Decker, Chicago, Illinois; four grandchildren: Kyra and Sterling, Amanda and Nicholas; one brother, Louie (Donna) Decker, Wautoma; three sisters: Donna (Phil) Zinke, Iola; Carla (Jim) Burmeister, Hudson, Florida; Laura (Buford) Seabolt, St. Charles, Missouri; mother-in-law, Marie Veitch, Seymour; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Ginny (Bill) Trost, Green Bay; Jim (Bonnie) Veitch, DePere; Margie (Patrick) Neumeyer, Seymour. He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Malcolm Veitch.
Friends may call at the Seymour United Methodist Church from10:00 a.m. until services at noon on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, with Pastor Ted Tromble officiating. Burial will be in Silver Cliff, Wisconsin.
