|Reverend Anthony Dale “Tony” Weston, 45 year old Oklahoma City resident, died Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at his Oklahoma City home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2006 in the Woodward Living Word Fellowship Church with the Reverends Marlon Sparks, Mark Short, Doug Eccles, Joe Nay, Terrell Glaze, Kim Francen and Kevin Kinchen officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2006 in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City with Pastor Kirk Pankratz of Oklahoma City and Pastor Cody Anderson of Meno. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home of Woodward.
Anthony Dale “Tony” Weston was born October 8, 1960 at Baxter Springs, Kansas; he was the son of Mack and Marlys (Rogers) Weston. He graduated from Baxter Springs High School in 1979. On January 16, 1976, Tony was united in marriage to Tonya Cornell in Carthage, Missouri. To this union were born three sons, Chris, Shelby and Ty. In 1979, Tony and Tonya moved to Woodward where he worked for Detroit Diesel. While working here, he began his study and preparation to enter the ministry. He later was engaged in various businesses of his own. Tony and Tonya founded the Woodward Living Word Fellowship Church and continued pastoring for fourteen years. In 1997, he and Tonya founded the Enid Living Word Fellowship Church which they pastored for seven years. Along with pastoring, Tony had a passion for missions and has held crusades in Honduras, Mexico, Peru, Costa Rica, Pakistan, Indonesia, Philippines, Columbia, Guyana, Nicaragua, Equador and Ghana.
Tony was a loving husband, devoted father and precious grandfather (“Big Daddy”). He will be greatly missed by his family.
Tony is survived by his wife, Tonya of the home; sons Chris, Shelby and fiancee Jayme; Ty and wife Kim all of Oklahoma City; three granddaughters, Chellsie of Enid, Claire and Kennedy of Oklahoma City; his parents, Mack and Marlys Weston; brother Tim and sister Tracy; all of Baxter Springs, Kansas; other relatives and a host of friends.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorials be given to Living Word Fellowship Church of Woodward to sponsor a mission trip in honor of Tony. His heart was for reaching the world for Christ.
