Edward J. Schaaf age 85 of Jasper passed away 11:35 P.M. Tuesday May 29, 2007 at Rosegate Nursing Center at Indianapolis. He was born March 4, 1922 at Jasper to: Otto J. and Helen (Berger) Schaaf. He married Anna Mae Kiefer September 25, 1944. She passed away December 10, 2005.
He was a self-employed Manufacturing Represenative-retired. After he retired he taught Journalism, and Computer Publishing at Precious Blood School and he worked for the Jasper Chamber of Commerce.
He was a 1941 Jasper High School Graduate, and also graduated from the University of Notre Dame
He was a recipient of the Evansville Diocese Brute Award
Memberships include: Precious Blood Catholic Church, WW2 Navy Veteran, American Legion Post 147, VFW Post 673, K of C, and the Jasper German Club Charter member of the Navy Club, Notre Dame Allumni, Dubois County Democrat, he was a Kentucky Colonel, He was a S.C.O.R.E. advisor.
Surviving: 2 sons- Mark Schaaf of Carmel IN., and Luke Schaaf of Martinsville IN.
6 daughters-Mrs. Michael (Marilyn) Rausch M.D., Mrs. Henry (Emily) Hernandez both of Indianapolis,Mrs. Ken (Annette) Fader of Florida, Mrs. Steven (Yvonne) Shinkle of Indianapolis, Mrs. Michael (Barbara) Gentry of Greenfield IN., and Mrs. Chris (Lisa) Abel of Indianapolis.
1 brother-Norbert Schaaf of Michigan City IN.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-8:00 P.M. Friday at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The Navy Club will have a memorial service at 7:00 P.M.. Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held at 9:30 A.M. Saturday at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. The American Legion Post 147 will conduct the Military Grave Side Rites.
