John G. Steffen age 90 of Jasper died at 11:52 a.m. Sunday (June 5, 2005) in the Memorial
Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born at Evansville, Indiana on March 21, 1915 to John H. and Tillie (Hoepner)
Steffen. He married Margaret Kidd on January 18, 1945 in St. Mary’s Church at
Washington, Indiana.
John retired from JOFCO in Jasper where he worked for over 30 years. He was a member
of the First Presbyterian Church in Jasper and the Line Masonic Lodge #743 and a life
member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Jasper.
Avid baseball fan, played for the Jasper Reds also managed the team and member of the
Jasper High School Basketball (Runer-up)Champions of 1934 Team, first team to go to
state in Jasper.
Surviving is his wife Margaret

Mrs. Charles “Mary Beth” Delaney, Houston, TX
5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren
Funeral arrangements for John G. Steffen will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday (June 9,
2005) in the First Presbyterian Church in Jasper with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery
in Jasper. The Rev. Larry Langer will officiate.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher - Kluesner Dowtown Chapel in
Jasper and one hour before services at the church.
Memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday by the Line Masonic Lodge # 743 at the funeral
home.
Memorials contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Jasper or to the
American Diabetes Association or to a favorite charity.
