Steven J. Schlachter age 52 of Duluth, Georgia and formerly of Jasper, Indiana died at
3:30 p.m. Friday (January 28, 2005) at his home after a short battle with cancer.
He was born in Jasper, Indiana on June 5, 1952 to Edgar and Anna Mae (Knies)
Schlachter.
Steven was a 1970 graduate of Jasper High School and a 1974 graduate of Indiana
University. He received a master’s degree in social work form the University of Georgia
in 2002. He was employed for 30 years by the Federal government as a Medicare
specialists of the Health Care Financing Administration.
Surviving are 1 son Jason Schlachter, Duluth, GA

Funeral services for Steven Schlachter will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday (February 4, 2005)
in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
Friends may call from 1 - 9 p.m. Thursday (February 3, 2005) at the Becher - Kluesner
Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
Memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Thursday by members of St. Joseph’s Parish
