Frank J. Herzog age 94 of Jasper died at 3:00 p.m. Sunday (November 21, 2004) at the
Northwood Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Jasper.

He was born in Jasper, Indiana on January 24, 1910 to Henry J. and Elizabeth
(Reckelhoff) Herzog. He was married twice; 1st marriage to Esther Marie Schutz, she
preceded him in death on May 30, 1958. His 2nd marriage to Bernice J. Gerber Eckert on
January 21, 1961, she died on December 11, 2002.

Frank Herzog retired from JOFCO in Jasper where he worked from 1955 to 1986. He
was the last surviving member of the orginal drivers of the Rainbow Cab and Bus
Company in Jasper. During the war years Frank and several local musicians play
numerious dance band venues in and around southern Indiana area with their band (Swing
Time Serenaders).
He is a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper and Holy Name Society.
Surviving are 1 son,
Edward J. Herzog, Jasper, IN
1 step-daughter, Mrs. Anthony “Joyce” Eckert Vitale, Indianapolis, IN
1 step -son, Charles “Jug” Eckert, Indianapolis, IN
4 grandchildren, Cheryl, John, Kenneth and Robert 8 step- grandchildren, 3 great
grandchildren and 15 step - great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death besides his first two wives are 2 brothers, John who died in
infancy and Joseph Herog and 2 sisters, Cecelia Schnell and Mayme Brenner and 1
step-son, Dennis J. Eckert .

Funeral services for Frank J. Herzog will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (November
24, 2004) in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in
Jasper.

Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher - Kluesner North Chapel in
Jasper.

A prayer Vigil will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper or to
Northwood Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Jasper.
