Emma R. Wilmes age 81 of Jasper died at 3:52 a.m. today (Saturday October 9, 2004) in
the Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
She was born at Mariah Hill, Indiana on June 3, 1923 to Paul and Philomena (Schum)
Buechler. Married to Clarence Wilmes on September 7, 1947 at St. Ferdinand Catholic
Church in Ferdinand, Indiana.
She retired from Holiday Liquors in 2003 and also worked at the Holy Family School for
many years.
Her memberships include Holy Family Catholic Church and Blessed Virgin Sodality, St.
Vincent DePaul Society and the Auxiliary to Chapter # 77 of the Disabled American
Veterans.
She was an avid quilter and enjoyed golfing.
Surviving are her husband Clarence

2 sisters, Alma Kaelin and Marcella Schipp and 1 brother Herbert Buechler.
Funeral services for Emma R. Wilmes will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday (October 12,
2004) in Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Monday at the Becher - Kluesner Downtown Chapel in
Jasper.
Rosary will be prayed at 3:00 p.m. Monday by the Blessed Virgin Sodality .
DAV Memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
A prayer Vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home by the Holy Family
Parish.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
