James T. Sermersheim age 65 of Ireland, Indiana died 3:03 a.m. Sunday (June 20, 2004) at his home from complications of Acute Leukemia.

He was born at Ireland, Indiana on February 26, 1939. His parents; Joseph and Gertrude (Beyke) Sermersheim. He married Patricia Blessinger on September 29, 1960 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper.

James Sermersheim , a farmer in the Ireland Community owned and operated his own construction Company building many local homes in the area. He later worked at the Dubois County Highway Dept as a Bridge Crew Foreman. Jim was an expert wookworker displaying his crafts at various craft shows. Served in the Indiana National Guard.
His memberships; St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland and a member of the Ireland Knight of Columbus.

Preceding him in death besides his father are twin sons who died in infancy and 1 grandson Travis Sermersheim.
Funeral services for James Sermersheim will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday (June 22, 2004) at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland with burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Ireland.
Friends may call from noon – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Becher – Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. A Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m. Monday by St. Mary’s Parish in Ireland.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Benedict in Ferdinand or to Palliative Care of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
