Norbert L. Lueken, age 86 of Jasper, passed away at 12:24 a.m. (Wednesday May 2, 2012) in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born in Schnellville, Indiana on October 5, 1925 to Herbert and Caroline (Uebelhor) Lueken. He married Mary Lee Mathies on September 13, 1951 in St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois, Indiana. She preceded him in death October 11, 1995. He married Dorothy Friedman Schroering on October 10, 1998.
Norbert was a WWII Army Veteran and served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater as a military policeman.
He retired from the Michigan-Wisconsin Gas Pipeline Company in Celestine where he had worked for over twenty years and later worked as Indiana Life Insurance agent for Modern Woodman Insurance Company. Served as Vice President of Historic Jasper, served at the coordinator for the American Red Cross blood drives for many years, and served on the funeral detail for the V.F.W.
Memberships: Holy Family Catholic Church , where he served as an usher for many years.- Jasper Knights of Columbus council #1584 since 1943 and was Catholic Layman of the year for 1989 - V.F.W. Post # 673 - American Legion Post # 147 and the Jasper Rose Society.

Preceding him in death is one son, Daniel Robert Lueken who died in infancy. One brother, Maurice Lueken and six sisters, Sr. Marietta Lueken OSB, Sr. Anna Rose Lueken OSB, Marietta Smith, Clara Mae Klem, Estella Schipp and Helen Lueken .
Funeral services for Norbert L. Lueken will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (May 5, 2012) in Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. American Legion Post # 147 will conduct military grave side rites.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday (May 4, 2012) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
