Margaret Bohnert Chappell, age 91 of Jasper and formerly of Petersburg, Indiana died at 10:45 a.m. Thursday (March 10, 2011) in the St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.
She was born on February 19, 1920 in Jasper to Linus and Ardella (Salb) Bohnert. She married John K. Chappell on October 20, 1942, He preceded her in death November 22, 2000.
She a graduate of Indiana University and Stephens College , She was a teacher at Jasper High School.
She is member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and the St. Ann’s Society– American Legion Auxiliary to Post # 147 – Life member V.F.W. Auxiliary to #3587 in Petersburg.
Margaret served as District President of the National Council of Catholic Women – Recipient of the Brute Award of the Diocese of Evansville.

Preceding her in death besides her husband was a grandson Matt Moore.
Funeral services for Margaret Chappell will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday (March 15, 2011) in St. Joseph Catholic Church with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday (March 14, 2011) at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Foundation of Southwestern Indiana- St. Meinrad Archabbey or to Sisters of St. Benedict.
