John R. Ziegler, age 90 of Jasper died at 9:27 p.m. Friday (February 11, 2011) in Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born October 29, 1920 in Martin County, Indiana to William and Phoebe (Hunt) Ziegler. He married Merties Baker on August 19, 1945 at Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana. She preceded him in death on May 3, 1987.
John Ziegler was a WWII Army Veteran and retired Boone Township farmer.
He was a past-president of the Haysville Water Board – served as President, Vice President and Secretary and Treasurer of the Haysville Ruritan Club also served on Christ Lutheran Church Council.

Funeral services for John R. Ziegler will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (February 15, 2011) in Christ Lutheran Church with burial to follow in Community Cemetery in Haysville. The Rev. Timothy Kraemer will officiate. V.F.W. Post # 673 will conduct military grave side rites.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday (February 14, 2011) at the Becher & Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana or to a favorite charity.
