Ralph W. “Tommy” Becher age 94 passed away at 2:12 P.M. Saturday Decmeber 4, 2010 at the Northwood Good Samaritan Retirement Community in Jasper. He was born March 7, 1916 in St. Meinrad IN. to: Robert and Frances (Ruxer) Becher. He married Marilyn Huck September 21, 1955. She passed away February 5, 2010.

Memberships include: St. Joseph Catholic Church, VFW Post 673, American Legion Post 147, Fourth Degree Member of the K of C. He was a former Board Member of the Dubois County Bank from 1977 to 1989.

He was a WW2 Army Veteran.

He was owner and operator of Becher & Son Funeral Home and later part owner of Becher & Kluesner Funeral Homes Inc. in Jasper-retired

He was an avid golfer Baseball Fan and loved to play cards/ Sheep Head.

He was a former Jasper Reds Centerfielder and played with various ball clubs in the area.

Surviving: 1 Son- John Becher and his wife Laurie Becher of Jasper
1 daughter-Susan Barnes of Gulfport FL.
1 brother-Gervase “Jerp” Becher of Jasper
3 sisters-Ann Krodel of Jasper, Dorothy “Dottie” Brosmer of Jasper, and Martha “Mert” Stallwood of Jasper formerly of Indianapolis.
7 Grandchildren-Andrea Donan, Kristen Becher, Jillian Becher, Brooklyn Becher and Lauren Becher, Emily Barnes and John Barnes.
3 Great Grandchildren Hannah, Jackson, and Barrett Donan.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.

Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 A.M. Thursday December 9, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. American Legion Post 147 will conduct the Military Graveside Rites.
