Esther M. Schitter, age 84 of Jasper died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday (October 5, 2010) in Brookside Village in Jasper.
She was born at Dubois, Indiana on October 23, 1925 to Urban and Theresa (Schnell) Seger. She married Dennis Schitter on May 25, 1948 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, he preceded her in death on October 14, 2003.
Esther Schitter was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church – St. Anne’s Society – Daughter of Isabella – Holy Family Sodality – V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary – Jasper Women of the Moose Lodge 1175 – Ireland Sportsman Club and the Schnellville Conservation Club.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are 1 infant son, William Joseph Schitter and 1 brother, Bob Seger.
Funeral services for Esther will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday October 8, 2010 in St. Joseph Catholic Church with entombment in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday (October 7, 2010.at the Becher & Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
Rosary by the D of I’s and the St. Anne’s Society will be held at 3:00 p.m Thursday - Memorial service by the V.F.W. Ladies Auxilary will be held at 6:00 p.m Thursday and Memorial services at 7:00 p.m. by the Ladies of the Moose at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dubois County Community Foundatin C/O the Dennis & Esther Schitter Foundation or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
