Gerald J. Gress, age 67 of Huntingburg died at 7:50 a.m. Friday (March 5, 2010) in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born at Indianapolis, Indiana on May 29, 1942 to Joseph and Anna (Muhlherr) Gress. He married Doris Schnell on June 17, 1965, she preceded him in death on April 30, 2002.

Scott Gress and his wife Diane, Celestine, IN
Stanley Gress, Terre Haute, IN
10 grandchildren .
Preceding him in death is 1 granddaughter who died in infancy.
Gerald was a U.S. Army Veteran, he served in the 38th9 Engine Company at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and retired from Thermwood at Dale, Indiana and had previously worked for the Jasper Lumber Company.
He is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg – Celestine Community Club - American Legion Post # 147- Huntingburg Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
He enjoyed boating and the outdoors.
Funeral services for Gerald Gress will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday (March 8, 2010) in St. Celestine Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Celestine Cemetery. V.F.W. Post 3 673 in Jasper will conduct Military Grave Side Rites.
Friends may call from 11-8 p.m. Sunday (March 7, 2010) at the Becher & Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center or to the Palliative Care of Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.
