Jerome H. Schroeder, age 86, Celestine, Indiana, died at 4:55 a.m. Today (Tuesday, September 8, 2009), Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born at Celestine, Indiana, March 22, 1923 to Herman J. and Katherine (Schroering) Schroeder. He married Joan Beckman on October 27, 1949, she preceded him in death on February 1, 2008.

Preceding him in death besides his wife are 1 sister, Bernadette Schroering and 5 brothers; Joseph, Alois, Edward, Rev. Othmar and Rev. Sylvester Schroeder.
Jerome Schroeder retired from Cave Quarries and also was a farmer.
He is member of St. Celestine Catholic Church, Jasper Knights of Columbus and the Dubois Silver Age Club.
Funeral services for Jerome Schroeder will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday (September 11, 2009) in St. Celestine Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Celestine Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday (September 10, 2009) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Thursday by members of St. Celestine Catholic Church at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Celestine Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
