Charles Jerger age 81 of Ireland passed away at 3:11 A.M. Friday May 29, 2009 at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. He was born February 26, 1928 at Ireland to: Joseph and Helena (Dupps) Jerger. He married Wilma “Billie” Hoffman July 10, 1956. She passed away September 28, 2006.
He was a Farmer in the Ireland area. He was also an Army Veteran.
Memberships include: St. Mary Catholic Church, the K of C, VFW Post 673, and the Ireland Sportsman Club.
Surviving: 1 son Keith Jerger of Newburgh IN.
1 daughter-Mrs. Phil (Dianne) Gogel of Ireland.
1 brother- Joe Jerger of Ireland
1 sister- Ruth Knies of Celestine
6 Grandchildren
2 Great Grandchildren
Preceded in death besides his wife is 1 daughter Marilyn Jerger, 5 sisters- Joan Glendenning, Helen Jerger, and Alice Hochgesang, Mildred Beckman, and Mary Ann Haas 2 brothers-Harold Jerger, and John Jerger.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday at the Becher & Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday June 1, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland with burial to follow at the church cemetery. VFW Post 673 will conduct the Military Grave Side Rites.
