Roberta C. Sternberg, age 86, Jasper, Indiana died at 3:20 a.m. Saturday (May 23, 2009) Brookside Village, Jasper, Indiana.
She was born at Huntingburg, Indiana, May 10, 1923 to Thomas and Emma (Hopf) Giesler.
She married William Sternberg on November 30, 1943, St. Joseph Catholic Church, he preceded her in death on February 7, 1991.

Daughter, Sandy Miller
Son, Allen Sternberg and spouse Marilyn, both Jasper, IN
5 grandchildren; Ross & Trent Miller and Bob and Brent Sternberg and Brooke Lampert. 11 great- grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are 2 sisters, Hilda Lemond Kays, Dorothy Mae Giesler and 4 brothers; Martin, Louis, Victor and Elmer Thomas Giesler.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Blessed Virgin Sodality and was a recipient of the Brute Award of the diocese of Evansville.
Funeral services for Roberta C. Sternberg will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (May 27, 2009) Holy Family Catholic Church with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday (May 26, 2009) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
Rosary will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home by the Blessed Virgin Sodality.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
