Justine E. Otto, age 93, of Jasper died at 7:50 a.m. Sunday (December 28, 2008), in the St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.
She was born at Ireland, Indiana on December 30, 1914, to Phillip and Helen (Erny) Kreilein. She married Albert Otto on May 21, 1946, he preceded her in death on June 16, 1985.
Justine Otto retired from Schneiders Department Store in Jasper where she worked for 13 years where she did alterations.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the St. Ann’s Society. St. Charles Red Hat Society of which she served as its first president.
She was the recipient of the Karen Bell Volunteering Award.
Her hobbies were volunteering, quilting, crafts, cards, gardening and fishing.
Surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her husband are 1 sister, Rosaline Heilers and 4 brothers, Francis, Herman, Raymond and Clarence Kreilein.
Funeral services for Justine Otto will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday (December 31, 2008) in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
Friends may call from 2-8 p. m. Tuesday (December 30, 2008) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church , Ireland Historical Society or to the Dubois County Community Foundation.
