Bernadette Lechner Grannan, age 93 of Jasper , Indiana died at 6:26 p.m. Friday (August 15, 2008) in the Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born in Jasper on August 13, 1915 to George and Frieda (Gutgsell) Baunach. Married to Carl M. Lechner who preceded her in death in Wartime (Battle of the Ardennes –Battle of the Bulge.

Bernadette Grannan was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, St. Ann’s Society, Gold Star Mother, V.F.W. Auxiliary to Post # 673 and the American Legion Auxiliary to Post # 147.

Surviving are 1 daughter and 1 son;

James Lechner, Jasper, IN
5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren
2 sister,
Constanace Pfeffer
Cornelia Stemle, both of Jasper, IN

Preceding her in death is a son George Lechner and 1 sisters, Huberta Kippenbrock.

Funeral services for Bernadette R. Grannan will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday (August 20, 2008) in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday (August 19, 2008) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.

Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday by the D of I’s and the St. Ann’s Society, American Legion Memorial service at 6:00 p.m. and a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. by the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
