Raleigh J. Zehr age 90 of Boone Township died at 5:35 p.m. Saturday March 22, 2008 in the Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born in Harbison Township to Charles E. and Anna (Kalb) Zehr. He married Mildred Keller on January 7, 1947 at the Emanuel Hill Lutheran at the Dubois Crossroads at Dubois, Indiana; she preceded him in death on November 15, 1998.
Raleigh Zehr a WWII Army Veteran retired from the Indiana Desk Company in Jasper and also was a farmer in Boone Township.
He is a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township – V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper – Ireland Sportsman Club.
Surviving is 1 son and 2 daughters;

Preceding him in death besides his wife is 1 son Mark Allen Zehr, 1 step- grandson Ryan Ahrens. 1 sister Jeanette Angerer, 6 brothers, Willis, Paul, Harry, Luther, and Floyd Zehr who died during military service another brother Arthur died in infancy.
Funeral services for Raleigh Zehr will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (March 26, 2008) in St. John’s Lutheran Church with burial to follow in St. John Cemetery in Boone Township. The Rev. Jamie Gallacher will officiate. V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper will conduct military grave side rites.
Friends may call from 2-8 P.m. Tuesday (March 25, 2008) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society.
