| | | Edith Omezell Lunsford Adkins 79 of St. Albans passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 at CAMC Teays Valley Hospital, Hurricane.
Born June 23, 1933 in St. Albans, Edith was a daughter of the late John Albert and Winnie Flora Lovejoy Lunsford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Adkins and her sisters, Virginia Adkins, Opal Hartwell, Elizabeth Lunsford and brothers, Donald Eugene Lunsford, Delbert A. Lunsford, James Preston Lunsford and Bobby Lunsford; as well as three nephews.
Edith had worked as a cook at the Route 35 Diner and was a Baptist by faith.
She is survived by her sisters, Shirley (Clff) Kees, Rhoda (Chester) Hensley, Clarinda B. Adkins, Linda (Earl) Scarberry and Lucy K. (Bryan) Shomper; brothers, Charles Amos (Barbara) Lunsford; also survived by 32 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, 409 Sixth Avenue, St. Albans with Pastor David Bess. Burial will follow in Goldsbury Cemetery in Lincoln County.
Friends may visit from 6-8 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
