  VIEW/SEND CONDOLENCES
 
Ellen L. Bowman, 87, of Jonesville, died at 10:15 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Bowman was a homemaker and retired from G&E Greenhouse in Walesboro.
She was a faithful member of Jonesville Christian Church where she was longtime Sunday School teacher and song leader for 60 years. Mrs. Bowman volunteered at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown and she enjoyed sewing, working puzzles, painting pictures and gardening.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Stan Thomas and Charles Bowman officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jonesville Christian Church or Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born in Columbus April 24, 1925, Mrs. Bowman was the daughter of Valentine and Lilly Rager Quillen. She married Charles D. Bowman January 18, 1943. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2001.
Survivors include children, Sharon Butler of Jonesville, Mike (Linda) Bowman of Jonesville and Becky Hawksworth of Columbus; grandchildren, Duane (Debbie) Butler of Seymour, Tracy (Tom) Daily of Jonesville, Adam (Tabitha) Fish of Seymour, Kim (Gary) Hamblen of Nashville and Charles (Dorene) Bowman of Taylorsville; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie (Lois) Quillen of Warsaw, Harry Quillen of Tennessee and Bill (Betty) Quillen of Seymour; a sister, Linda (Phillip) Morris of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter, Shannon L. Bowman; brothers, Paul and Jack Quillen and Valentine Quillen Jr. and a sister, Evelyn Able.
