|Luella "Lu" M. Roe, 81, of Franklin Street, passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends from the Armory after a long battle with Lung Cancer on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 7:03pm at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Lu was a homemaker, she was formerly employed at Sears, Bartholomew County Auditor's Office and Marsh. A member of Garden City Church of Christ and Lady of the Elks in Lake Placid, FL.
She enjoyed playing cards, NASCAR, eating out with friends and being with family.
A graveside service will be conducted at 12pm Monday in Section 76 at Garland Brook Cemetery with Billie Goodner officiating.
Arrangements were made by Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home

She was born in Switzerland County, Indiana on August 13, 1930 the daughter of Albert D. and Nellie Harlow Romans.
She married James E. "Jim" Roe on February 14, 1948 he preceded her in death on January 14, 2001.
Survivors include her daughter Kay Taylor of Columbus, sister Marge Norisez of TN, grandchildren Stacy (Craig) Roth, Brian (Amee) Taylor and Traci Kay Roe, great grandchildren Christopher, Katie Lynn and Hannah Mae Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Alberta Donahey, infant daughter Karen Rae Roe and a son Jay Roe.
