Jean Horn, 78, of Hawcreek Blvd., died at 6:04 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2012 at the home of her son in Avon.
Mrs. Horn had been a nurse’s aid and most recently was a clerk in the children’s department at the eastside Walmart.
She was a member of Central Heights Church of God, was a sports enthusiast, enjoyed gardening and she loved her dogs.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Central Heights Church of God with the Rev. Nathan Greene and Pastor Johnny Garrison officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Central Heights Church of God.

Born in Marseilles, Illinois June 11, 1933, Mrs. Horn was the daughter of Albert and Nettie Noel Tungate. She married Richard Alan Echard and later married Simon Earl Horn.
Survivors include her son, Tony (Terry) Echard of Avon; grandchildren, Michelle Tharp, Dusten Tharp (Jessica), Amy (Tim) Kelly, Greg (Audra) O’Brien, Derek (Amanda) O’Brien, Breanna Echard, T.J. Echard and Tammy (Jason) Daniel; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Estopare of Kansas City, Mo. and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Horn was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; children, Tina Denise Horn, Donetta Ann Smith, Sherry Lynn Schuler and David Wayne Horn and a brother, Randy Tungate.
