L. Alvenia Green, 87, of Road 200 South died at 11:07 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Mrs. Green was a homemaker and a seamstress at Franklin Square. She was a member of New Zion United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, canning, camping and spending time with her grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Father Clem Davis officiating. Calling will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday and from 1 p.m. until service time Monday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Mrs. Green was born in Johnson County on May 2, 1919. She married Charles W. Green on Sept. 2, 1939.

Survivors include sons, Mike (Anna Lee) Green and Tommy (Betty) Green, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Kevin (Addie) Green, Michelle (Jay) Matney, Darren (Carrie) Green, Gina Orrison and Heather Green, all of Columbus, and Indy Cox of Greencastle; great-grandchildren, Amber (Steve) Axsom, Sean Matney, Nicholas, Zachary and Alyssa Green, Sydni Mullis, Lucas Orrison, Maxwell and Emily New and Copeland Christie; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Feb. 4, 1988; a son, Terry Green; an infant daughter, Bonnie Jean Green; a great-grandson, Sebastian Orrison; and several brothers and sisters.
