| | | MAXWELL – Ralph W. Link, 88, of Maxwell, died Sunday, May 24, 2009 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
Ralph was born August 5, 1920 at Maxwell, Iowa, the son of Albert, Sr. and Kathryn (Kiefer) Link. During WWII, Ralph served in the Army. He was united in marriage to Alvera Kuntz on January 25, 1948 in Northwood, Iowa. Ralph was a farmer and had farmed all of his life. He was a member of the Peoria United Methodist Church, the Maxwell VFW and American Legion, the Story County Farm Bureau, and the Isaac Walton League. Ralph loved farming, gardening, trapping and fishing.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Alvera of Maxwell. Iowa; a daughter and son-in-law: Nancy and David Goodwin of Texas City, Texas; 2 grandchildren: Brian and Brenda Goodwin of LaMarque, Texas, Heather and Bradley Watkins of Texas City, Texas; 3 great-grandchildren: Rylan Watkins, Cayden Watkins, Bri’anna Goodwin; and a sister: Betty Enfield of Maxwell, Iowa.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents: three sisters: Christine Bailey, Gladys Pearson; Lucille Eatwell; and six brothers: Walter Link, Henry Link, Albert Link, Jr., Ivan Link, Robert Link, and Raymond Link.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Interment will be in the Peoria Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell.
Memorials may be made to the Ralph W. Link Memorial Fund.
The Bacon Funeral Home of Maxwell is in charge of arrangements.
