Dennis Robert McClaskey, 58, passed from this life on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Rolling Green Village in Nevada, Iowa. In agreement with Dennis’ wishes, cremation rites were accorded at Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada, Iowa.
Dennis was born on February 14, 1951 in Des Moines. He graduated from East High School in 1969 and attended Des Moines Area Community College studying in Horticulture. He worked for the City of Des Moines in road construction, at the Des Moines Airport doing landscaping and for the Des Moines Metro Transit Authority.
Dennis’ interests were military history, Iowa Hawkeye football, UFO investigations and his faithful dog, Mick. On June 5, 1977, he was featured on the front cover of “Picture” magazine, then a section of the Sunday Des Moines Register, followed by an article about painting and collecting military miniatures.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Robert Junior McClaskey and his mother, Martha Virginia McClaskey. He is survived by his brother Brent and many friends.
