Gretchen Amsbaugh, 94, of Cambridge, Iowa, died February 17, 2009 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.
The body has been cremated and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Gretchen was born September 17, 1914, at Portland, Iowa to Carl and Helene (Hots) Schroeder. She was a homemaker and cooked for several restaurants.
Survivors include three sons: Thomas Amsbaugh of Waubay, South Dakota; Kenneth Amsbaugh of Sheffield, Iowa; John Amsbaugh of Polk City, Iowa; four daughters: Myrna Evans of Cambridge, Iowa; Berneil Jones of Elkhart, Iowa; Bonnie Vande Lune of Cambridge, Iowa; Deborah Clark of Huxley, Iowa; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Gretchen was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter: Nancy; eight brothers and five sisters.
Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the arrangements.
