| | | Mary “Virginia” Peters, 91, formerly of Maxwell, Iowa, died January 22, 2009 at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada, Iowa.
Services will be at 10 A.M., Monday, January 26, 2009 at the Maxwell United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Sunday, January 25th from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell.
Virginia was born at Collins, Iowa on October 3, 1917, the daughter of John and Nettie (Nelson) Myers. She was united in marriage to Theodore Peters who preceded her in death in 1983. She worked as a Record Keeper for the Iowa State Alumni Department for 17 years.
Virginia was a member of the Maxwell United Methodist Church; and a 4-H Leader for many years. She enjoyed sewing; making dolls (60-70); and was an avid reader.
Survivors include a son: John (Marilyn) Peters of Fort Collins, Colorado; a daughter: Carol (Mike) Tinkham of Maxwell; two sisters: Ruth Thompson of Chico, California and Elaine Garlick of Fresno, California; six grandchildren: Gary Peters, Tim Peters, Nick Peters, Evan Peters, Julie Lucy, Steve Tinkham; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Theodore; and a son, Donald.
