| | | Wesley Thomas Poppe, 24, of Iowa City, Iowa, died at his home Wednesday, October 22, 2008. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 27th at the United Methodist Church in Colo, Iowa. Visitation will be 3:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, October 26th at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.
Wes was born November 9, 1983, in Union City, Tennessee, the son of Thomas Lawrence and Yvonne “Bonnie” (Kizer) Poppe. He was employed by Subway as a Restaurant Worker.
He was affiliated with the Nevada Assembly of God Church; loved people, enjoyed fishing and snow skiing.
Wes is survived by his parents, Thomas and Yvonne “Bonnie” Poppe of Colo, Iowa; one son: Peyton Christopher Bales of Ames, Iowa; two sisters: Candace Wismer of Nevada, Iowa; Keesha Webster of Boone, Iowa; and 2 nieces, 3 nephews; and his paternal grandmother: Aylo (Poppe) Bell of Coggon, Iowa.
Preceding him in death were both grandfathers; his maternal grandmother and one uncle, John Poppe.
Memorials may be given to the Wes Poppe Memorial Fund.
