| | | Guylia D. Partridge, 92, of Wellman, Iowa, formerly of Nevada and Collins, passed away October 8, 2008 while visiting her son and daughter-in-law in El Dorado, Illinois. A celebration of life service will be Monday, October 13th, 11:00 AM at Nevada Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis Reynolds officiating, assisted by Pastor Gene Carpenter of Wellman. Visitation will be 9:30 AM prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Collins, Iowa.
Guylia was born January 26, 1916, at Rhodes, Iowa to Guy and Roena (Fox) Elliott. She graduated in 1933 from Collins High School. She was a lifelong homemaker and farm wife and was employed for a period of time at Donnelley Marketing in Nevada.
She was married to Norman E. Partridge on September 11, 1935. He preceded her in death in 1986.
She is survived by her children: D. G. (Rosemary) Partridge of Wall Lake, Iowa, Dr. Elliott O. (Darla) Partridge of El Dorado, Illinois, and Cheryle (Rex) Link of Wellman, Iowa. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 32 great grand children, 1 great-great grandson and her sisters: Nelda Kriegel and Anoka (Jack) Stratton of Collins, Iowa.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Norman; a brother: Ober Elliott; a grandson: David Partridge, and her parents.
Guylia was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend known affectionately as “Me-Me” to her grandchildren and many others. She always had a smile for everyone. She was devoted to her family and church.
Memorials may be directed to the Nevada Baptist Church building fund.
