Ila Elizabeth Patterson Hoskin, 89, of Indianapolis, IN, died September 20, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Lloyd N. and Neva (Weaver) Patterson, born on January 22, 1919 in Polk County Iowa. Ila graduated from East High School in Cleveland, Hiram College and the University of Iowa at Iowa City earning B.A. and M.A. degrees. She went on to be a teacher, as well as a mother of three children. She raised her family in Cleveland, Ohio. She was active in PTA, serving as President for Memphis, James Ford Rhodes, Charles A. Mooney and William Rainey Harper, at her church (Pearl Road United Methodist Church) and Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She enjoyed crafts and gardening.
Ila is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Hoskin.
Survivors include a daughter, Adele Hoskin; son, Charles P. (Lee) Hoskin; daughter, Sharla Jean Hoskin; brother, Lloyd M. (Patricia) Patterson and two grandchildren: Michael and Kelly.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2008, at 11:00 AM at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell, Iowa. Graveside service will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery, Loring, Iowa following the Memorial Service.
