Indiana Law on Burial Vaults |
|
|
Does Indiana require a vault to have to be used? And can a township charge for a burial in a township-operated cemetery? There's no Indiana law that says you must use a burial vault or outer burial container, but some cemeteries do require the use of an outer burial container. As for the township trustee charging for the burial in a township-operated cemetery, the trustee is allowed to recover any expenses incurred if the deceased does not qualify for assistance. I hope this is helpful.-- Jerrit L. Clayton, CFSP |
