Insurance and Preplanning Funerals |
|
|
My parents are considering planning their funeral ahead of time, and paying ahead of time. They have been told that an insurance plan will serve them best. What insurance company do you recommend, and why? Is it possible to insure both of them on one plan, like a joint life insurance policy? There are a number of very good companies that offer funeral pre-planning (also called "pre need") insurance. We partner with both Homesteaders Life (http://www.homesteaderslife.com/) and FORTIS Family (www.fortis.com)you can find more information about both companies on their websites as well. There are a number of other companies that offer excellent plans as well. For help in this process, our suggestion would be to contact a local family-owned funeral home (use our free Funeral Home Locator at http://www.funeralplan.com/locator/ to find one near you). A licensed funeral director or pre need counselor can help you through this process, and help you find the company and policy that are right for your parents. I hope that answers at least some of your questions; good luck to you and your parents! |
