A Day in the Life of a Funeral Home Embalmer

I'm doing a school report on modern day embalming. Can you please send me a schedule of what a modern day embalmer would do for a day at work?

At our firm an embalmer does the following on a daily basis:

1. Makes removals from home or hospital
2. Embalms the remains
3. Dresses the remains
4. Caskets the remains
5. Cleans the preparation room

In some funeral homes the embalmer would also help with the funerals and visitations. I hope this helps. -- Jerrit L. Clayton, CFSP
