What Happens to Your Body When You Die? |
|
|
I need information on my impending death. What happens? Every "body" is different. It may seem obvious but it bears stating. Our bodies are made up of natural elements that at death take on a new life of their own. The proteins and enzymes in our bodies start to break down. Some faster than others. Lacking the oxygen to sustain them they die and begin the decomposition process. Just as food items when not properly preserved or disinfected break down, so does our body. The embalming process is meant to delay that process and is indeed a "temporary" disinfection and preservation. Hope this helps. -- David R. Shirley |
