| | | Byron Dean Roos, age 68, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at Sanford Sheldon Hospital in Sheldon.
Memorial Services will be Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon. Rev. Marvin Lindley officiating.
Private burial service at East Lawn Cemetery prior to the Memorial Service.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. prior to the Memorial Service at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service.
Byron Dean Roos was born on August 3, 1940, in Hospers, Iowa. He was the son of Henry and Martha (Oldenkamp) Roos. He lived his youth in Hospers where he attended school and graduated from high school in 1957.
He married Carol Pedersen in January of 1959. They were later divorced.
He married Marcia (Dykshoorn) Haag of Sheldon, Iowa, on October 27, 1989. They made their home in Sheldon. Byron worked in the area for many years in the meat and grocery store industry. He was presently employed at Beeler Natural Pork in LeMars, Iowa as a Pork Salesperson.
He attended the United Methodist Church in Sheldon.
Byron enjoyed singing, grilling, and playing and watching baseball. He was an avid Cardinals fan. He also enjoyed vacations with L.C. and his family at Triggs Resort. He will be remembered for his smile and light-hearted humor.
He passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at Sanford Sheldon Hospital in Sheldon.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife: Marcia Roos of Sheldon, IA; his children: Derick and Marla Roos of Sheldon, IA and their daughter: Jessica Roos, Lynae and Dave Van Roekel of Estherville, IA and their children: Natalie and Andy Brown, Tyler and Whitney Van Roekel and their children: Keegan and Liam Brown; Mike Roos of Hospers, IA; Mark and JoAnn Roos of Sioux City, IA and their children: Christian, Conner, and Colby Roos; Ann and Jason Bergsma of Alton, IA and their children: Kaitlyn and Hailey Bergsma; step-children: Janelle Haag of Nampa, ID; Sarah and Rick Updike of Sheldon, IA and their daughter: Alexandria; maternal parents: Lowell and Nell Dykshoorn of Sheldon, IA; one sister: Alma (Dean) Hofmeyer of Hospers, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Joshua Roos.
