| | | David J. Berkelo, age 60, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2008, at the Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer, Iowa.
Memorial Service will be Thursday, January 24, 2008, at 1:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon. Rev. Mark W. Kukkonen officiating.
David Joseph Berkelo was born on June 11, 1947, in Madison, South Dakota. He was the son of Martin N. and Pearl (Anderson) Berkelo. He lived his youth in Madison until moving to Sheldon, Iowa, where he graduated from Sheldon High School.
He married Dianne Thomassen of Sheldon, Iowa, on March 19, 1966 in Sheldon, where they lived. They divorced in 1975.
David worked for the Big 4 (AGP), until he quit because of his health.
He enjoyed painting, drawing, and all aspects of being an artist. He especially enjoyed being around his sons and grandchildren.
He passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2008, at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, Iowa.
Those left to cherish his memories are his two sons: David Wade and wife Merry Berkelo of Sioux Falls, SD, Timothy Jon Berkelo of Sioux Falls, SD; three grandchildren; one brother: Martin Berkelo Jr. of Anchorage, AK; three sisters: Barbara and Harry Coffey of Sioux Falls, SD, Delores and Pat Doyle of Murfreesboro, TN, Linda and Mark Kimmel of Salem, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Marlene; one daughter: Dana Jo; one son: Eric Michael.
