| | | Jennie Walburg, age 84, of Sibley, Iowa, formerly of Ocheyedan, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, November 17, 2007, at 11:00 A.M. at the Christian Reformed Church in Ocheyedan. Rev. John Knoester officiating.
Private family burial prior to the Memorial Service at Ocheyedan Township Cemetery in Ocheyedan.
Visitation will be Friday, November 16, from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Chapel in Ocheyedan.
Jennie Walburg was born on October 14, 1923, in Ocheyedan, Iowa. She was the daughter of Henry and Tillie Post. She lived her youth in rural Ocheyedan, where she attended a country school.
She was united in marriage to Thomas Walburg of Ocheyedan, on March 4, 1945. They lived in the Harris and Ocheyedan area, where they farmed until 1985, when they retired and moved to Ocheyedan. Thomas passed away on October 23, 1992.
Jennie was a member of the Ocheyedan Christian Reformed Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and the Dorcas Society. She also worked with “Trash for Cash” for the Ocheyedan Christian Grade School.
In 2003, Jennie moved to Heartwood Heights in Sibley, Iowa, where she enjoyed fellowship and games with her friends.
Jennie will be remembered as a loving, warm, caring, unselfish person, who let the love of God shine through her.
She passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, in the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children: James and Phyllis Walburg of Spirit Lake, IA, Atena Luikaart of Grand Rapids, MI, Delores and Bobby Baker of Sibley, IA, Sharlene and Leon Visser of Grand Rapids, MI, Cheryl and John Jackson of Waukee, IA, Terry and Darla Walburg of Hartley, IA, Loren and Kim Walburg of Rockford, MI, Duane and Jena Walburg of Aurora, CO; 25 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one brother: Garrett and Jean Post of Sibley, IA; one sister: Lena and Ed Meurs of Fulton, IL; two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Post of Sibley, IA and Lucy Post of Northfield, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Thomas; son-in-law: David Luikaart; her parents; two brothers: John Post and Andrew Post; one sister: Cornelia Ver Hoef.
