The Andringa Funeral Homes in Sheldon, Sibley and Ocheyedan are locally owned and operated by Larry and Lavonne Andringa. Larry is a licensed and professional Funeral Director. He has a license to practice in Iowa and Minnesota. He received his education from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, Illinois, graduating in 1981. Larry has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and a minor in Theology from Westmar University in LeMars, Iowa. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps form 1974 to 1978.

Larry and Lavonne moved to Sibley in 1983 and started Andringa Funeral Home. In 1991, they purchased Andringa Funeral Home in Sheldon, it is now Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service. In 1994, they built a chapel in Ocheyedan, Iowa, which is the Andringa Funeral Chapel.
Larry and Lavonne work together to provide the best funeral care to the families they serve. Their home is connected to the funeral home, which provides service 24 hours a day.

Larry is a member of the Iowa Funeral Director's Association and the National Funeral Director's Association. He is also a member of the International Order of the Golden Rule, which selects outstanding funeral homes that have demonstrated their commitment to the funeral industry through dedicated service and a high awareness of the needs of their communities. Once a funeral home is selected for membership to the Order of the Golden Rule, they must continue to provide quality service to retain their membership. This assures the public that O.G.R. members are professional with the highest standards of conduct.

Larry wants to work with families taking into account their financial concerns. The cost of a funeral is dependent upon the family's choices. He will make certain you are aware of the cost of each service you choose and will make every effort to accommodate your needs when dealing with funeral expenses and funeral arrangements.

Larry enjoys being flexible to personalize each service, as you desire. He is willing to work with you, according to your religious beliefs and personal preferences. Larry understands and appreciates that the funeral service you have selected will be an individual expression and tribute to your loved one. He is sensitive to your families needs because of the loss in his own life with his father's death when he was 11 years old, and his mother's when he was 38.
