| | | James L. Strahle, 92, of Linton, IN entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 13, 2012 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton, IN. He was born in Linton, IN, on December 4, 1919 to John Wesley and Mary Jane (Gabbert) Strahle. Jim married Thelma L. (Perkins) on May 10, 1963.
Jim served in the US Army during World War II and was employed at Conrail Railroad serving 42 in the accounting department, where he retired in 1981. He was a member of Linton Church of Christ and was a Life member of American Legion Post #22.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews including, Linda Tucker, Myra Branch, Susan Thomas, Cindy Virden, Gwen Hicks, Lisa Strahle, Sherry Strahle, Sarah Wall; Nephews, Jerry Hert, Dane Strahle and Shawn Strahle.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Thelma L. (1977), 3 sisters, 4 brothers and 3 nieces.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, 11:00 AM with Minister Pat Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the Clayton Cemetery in Linton, IN.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, IN from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, April 16, 2012, and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service on Tuesday, April 17, 2012.
Military Graveside Services will be provided by American Legion Post #22 and VFW Post #7118
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Community Food Pantry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel of Linton.
