| | | R. Paul Davis, 74, of 116 N. Goodrich St., Newcomerstown, O., died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, in Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center at Cambridge, O.
He was born Dec. 19, 1934, at Munday, W.Va., to the late Lula Levada (Belt) Davis and the late Elery Guy Davis.
He was retired as the Newcomerstown Street Superintendent. The joy of his life was raising and training horses. He enjoyed competing at the county fairs' horse pulls. He was a member of the Ohio Horse Pullers Assn.
Survivors include his two sons, Jeff Davis and Tom Davis, both of Newcomerstown; four daughters, Peg Jones and husband Dwane of West Lafayette, Patty Hosfelt and husband Chuck of Coshocton, Cathy Myers and husband Tim, and Deana Bryant and husband Mike, all of Newcomerstown; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Opal Curtis and husband Bob and Deloris Stocker and husband Marvin, all of Newcomerstown; one brother, Neal Davis and wife Shirley of Newcomerstown.
A graveside service will be held at West Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Rev. Chris Cutshall will officiate. Burial will take place in West Lawn Cemetery at Newcomerstown, O. Visitation will be held in Addy Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
