| | | Robert E. Allen, 61, 17374 Peoples Church Rd., Newcomerstown, O., died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, in his residence.
He was born April 17, 1948, at Guernsey County, O., to the late Pauline (Berger) Allen and the late Oscar J. Allen.
Robert was an Army veteran.
He was owner and operator of Allen Lumber Co. He was formerly employed at Belden Brick Co. of Port Washington, NCR of Cambridge, General Tire of Newcomerstown, Island Creek Coal Co. of Freeport.
He enjoyed his family and spending time at his cabin.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadine J. (Peoples) Allen, whom he married Oct. 30, 1966; two sons, Michael E. Allen and wife Amy and Matthew Allen and wife Becki, all of Newcomerstown; one grandson, Cody of Newcomerstown; two sisters, Sarah "Susie" Harbold of Fresno, Carol J. Miller of Newcomerstown; one brother, Oscar Allen Jr. and wife Sandy of West Lafayette; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Addy Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, beginning at 11 a.m. Rev. Jim Reed will officiate. Burial will take place in Peoples Community Church Cemetery at Newcomerstown, O. Visitation will be held in Addy Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Military services will be conducted by Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard.
