| | | George E. Henderson, age 92 of West Pine Street, Coshocton died Sunday, September 6, 2009 in Coshocton. He was born on March 9, 1917 in Salineville, OH, the son of the late Eva (Rowe) and Walter Henderson.
He graduated from Salineville High School and worked as an auto mechanic for 45 years for Orwig Motors in Alliance. After retiring he worked on cars at his home for several years.
He was a gentle, polite and sweet man, all the ladies loved to give him hugs. He was a part of the 7:30 mens club at the High Rise where he lived. He was a man of deep faith and he would spend hours every morning praying and reading the Bible. He attended the Burt Avenue Wesleyan Church of Coshocton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Olive (Waltz) Henderson who died May 4, 1987; he then married Fern (Watson) Henderson on July 7, 1988 and she died in 1994; son, Richard; and brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Alice Henderson of Mt. Vernon; one brother, Allen Henderson and wife Agnes of Alliance; two sisters, Martha Myers of Alliance, Mabel Morgan and husband, Larry of Washington.
Services will be held at Fairmont Memorial Park in Alliance on Friday, September 11, 2009 beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Susan Stevens officiating. Visitation will be held at the Addy Funeral Home on Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, September 11, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the cemetery.
