| | | Carol Joyce Gardner, 75, of 21966 Emerson St., Newcomerstown, O., died Friday, July 3, 2009, in Lafayette Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center at West Lafayette, O.
Born April 27, 1934, in Stringtown, O., she was a daughter of Wilbur and Dorothy (Malloy) Mobley and a 1952 graduate of West Lafayette High School. She was a housewife and store demonstrator. She was also an avid card player, member of TOPS and former 4-H adviser. She and her husband enjoyed traveling to the Smoky Mountains with family.
On Sept. 20, 1953, she married Carl F. Gardner, who died Feb. 26, 2004. Surviving are two daughters, Carla Frame and husband Jeff of Zanesville, Collette Burdette and husband Shawn of Newcomerstown; one son, Carl Steven Gardner and wife Jere Kay of Zanesville; five grandchildren, Ryan and Amanda Maple, Ethan and Carly Burdette and Carl Clayton Gardner; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Judith Wolff and husband James of Newcomerstown; one brother, Dennis Mobley and wife Mary of Alliance.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Wensday and Thorin Burdette.
Services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2009, beginning at 1 p.m. with Rev. Robert Millspaugh officiating in Addy Funeral Home at Newcomerstown. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery at Newcomerstown. Calling hours are Tuesday, July 7, 2009, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Addy Funeral Home.
She was cared for by Hospice of Coshocton County and her granddaughter, Carly Burdette and her fianc�, Joe Wilson.
