| | | Marjorie Snell Simmerman, 87, of 1110 E. State Rd., Newcomerstown, O., died Friday, May 22, 2009, in Riverside Manor Nursing & Rehab Center at Newcomerstown.
She was born Dec. 28, 1921, at Toledo, O., to the late Mildred (Stamm) Mardis and the late Paul Mardis.
A homemaker, she was formerly employed at Scott's 5-10 cent store. She attended Newcomerstown Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Snell, whom she married Feb. 24, 1940. He died April 22, 1992. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Simmerman, whom she married April 1, 1994. He died November 1997.
Survivors include one daughter, Kay Taylor, and husband Dean of Newcomerstown; three grandchildren, Jim Taylor and wife Beth, Deana Vickrey and husband Cary, Todd Taylor and wife Barb; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Casteel and husband Richard of Newcomerstown.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Maxwell.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, beginning at 11 a.m. Rev. Gene Whyde will officiate. Burial will take place in West Lawn Cemetery at Newcomerstown.
