Herbert O. Sanders, 91, of 3217 Phillips Ford Rd., Port Washington, O., died Saturday, May 16, 2009, in Union Hospital at Dover, O.
He was born Dec. 16, 1917, in Perry Township, a son of the Bessie A. Sanders and Charles M. Sanders.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth J. Sanders, whom he married on June 20, 1947; four daughters, Charlotte E. Potts and husband Chuck of Warsaw, Janice E. Sanders, Ronna R. Harding (Ed) and Alison J. Kerns and husband Robert, all of New Philadelphia; one son, Gale F. Sanders (Melissa) of Port Washington; seven grandchildren, Angela, Kevin, Kelly, Stephanie, Ashley, Sarah and Vanessa; three step-grandchildren, Angela, Beth and Tanea; five great-grandchildren, Von D.J. Elizabeth, Kevin and Preston; five step-great-grandchildren, Aaron, Rylee, Frank, Patrick and Shelby; a brother-in-law Norman Kadri of New Phila. and a sister-in-law June Butler of Uhrichsville.
He was preceded in death by one son, Roger D. Sanders; one grandson; three sisters, Hilda Meek, Mildred Robinson and Ruth Heid; and three brothers, Francis, Ernest and Kenneth.
According to his wishes, all arrangements are private and at the discretion of the family. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery, Gilmore Rd., Port Washington, O.
