| | | Betty Jane Sweitzer, 88, of 433 S. Chestnut St., Newcomerstown, O., died Monday, May 4, 2009, in Riverside Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at Newcomerstown, O.
She was born April 23, 1921, at Coshocton, O., to the late Hazel (Freshwater) Wolfe Linebaugh and the late Clifford Wolfe.
She was a housewife and had worked at the former Belle Nursing Home in the kitchen. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and had been an avid bowler with the Gabby Gals bowling team.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Millard Thomas Sweitzer, whom she married August 1938. He died Dec. 12, 1982.
Survivors include one son, David Sweitzer and wife Eleanor of Newcomerstown; one daughter, Donna Miskimen and husband Tom of Canton; six grandchildren, Mike, Todd and Mark Sweitzer, Tim Miskimen, Shirley Burt, Sheila Saeger; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Wolfe II, and sisters, an infant sister and Lucy Fawcett.
Services will be held at Addy Funeral Home on Saturday, May 9, 2009, beginning at 11 a.m. Rev. Troy Haynum will officiate. Burial will take place in Pleasant View Cemetery at Newcomerstown, O.
